Dear Mother:-
We are on our way south and making good time. Left Camp Lee at 4 PM and expect to reach Hancock about seven. Some riding on a troop train. There are two sections & about five hundred on each. We are laying over to change engines so we may leave any minute. It is getting very warm as we advance. We will soon be down with the Georgia "crackers" . I'll write as soon as I am settled again.

Love to all
Your loving son

P.S. -We are all together yet and as we left Camp Lee the drafters were pouring in.
