Dear Mother and Family:-
Just a few lines to tell you that I am still in good health and quarters. Received more mail from you yesterday and was glad to hear you were all still well. No, mother, I never received the letter you sent me containing the Testament. I have one that I left home with which I have kept out of the kit that was given to me by the W.C.T.U. I was doubly glad to hear that the old mill was going to start and that dad would soon be back on his old time job. I'm sure Skempy will make a good foreman. I always liked
[illegible.] No doubt dad will be better satisfied because, having worked so long in the rolls he will never be satisfied elsewhere. I am enclosing a few pictures we had taken the other day. We look kinda hard. Don't you think? Some were taken with just the equipment we carried during the war.
We expect to leave here for the concentration camp at Le Mans where we will be equipped for overseas. About the 5th of Feb and expect to sail for home sometime in March. That is the latest dope and comes form a good source. You can bet I'd like to be there St. Patrick's day at the latest. Hope Grace has heard from Ben recently and that he and Hempy can get back soon although I believe we will beat them home.
I haven't anything very interesting to tell you just now so will close. Love and kisses to you all.

Your loving son.
Walter

P.S. Glad you received the orders. Did you get the airplane pictures?
