Traveron France
3/5/19

Dearest Mother and Family:-
Have just finished reading your letter of 2/14/19 and am sorry you haven't heard from me for so long. I am up and around after spending three days in bed. You see we were given another shot in the arm the other day and it was a dose of six in one. I stood mine O.K. until after dinner and then began to feel a trifle dopey. I went to bed for a couple of hours and upon rising I did my old stunt of falling on my head and thereby aquired (sp) a nice peeled nose and a lovely gash in the head. I was not alone in my misery because most everyone was down and out including the Capt. and the officers. Even the doctor himself was laid out. I am coming around in good shape and beginning to eat once more. I heard from Florence today also and was glad to hear she would be home soon for a while at least. Last night I heard from Anna Humphries and the information given her by the Graves Registration Bureau differs widely from that I received. I am going to write them again and ask them to send me the real facts.
We are having spring weather again and many showers. We were to be reviewed by Gen. Pershing today but it has been postponed until next week. Was so glad to hear that dad had done so well with Hurst as a heater and hope he can get four days a week, anyhow. I am not very steady as yet so will make this a short note and close by sending all my love to all of you.
